University scientists are showcasing their Bionic Man at an annual techonolgy fair at the ExCeL Centre this weekend.
The School of Engineering and Materials Science at Queen Mary University, in Mile End, has been invited back for the third year to the Big Bang Fair, the largest celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths for young people in the UK.
During a four-day interactive event at the exhibition centre in Custom House, academics will use ‘The Bionic Man and its medical implants’ to teach visiting students how to build a bionic man using hip replacements, artificial heart valves, and tissue-engineered skin while also giving them the chance to interact with other life-sized avatars.
