One in four sixth formers at a school in Bethnal Green will be going to a top university after achieving their target A-level results.

The students at Raine’s Foundation School have secured places at Russell Group institutions.

Success stories include 18-year-old Caitlyn Warren who will study medicine at Kings College after achieving an A*, two As and one B.

She said: “This has been a very tough year for me with the pressure of exams but thanks to the teachers here and lots of hard work I have come out with grades I need to pursue my dream of being a doctor.

“The support from my teachers has made all the difference. Studying for A-levels and applying for university is hard enough but with medicine it’s an extra headache.

“But having the support of the teachers here really help me get through it. This is a really good place to do A-levels.”

Headteacher Rob Hullett said: “Our students have made the school incredibly proud with their wonderful exam results.

“They will leave this school for some of the very best universities in the country to study the top subjects.

“As a school and teaching body we have worked incredible hard to be among the top performing sixth forms in the borough.

“These young people have been equipped with the skills and education to grasp the opportunities that lie beyond Raine’s Foundation School. We wish them well.”
