Scouts are on the hunt for unwanted children's books to send to learning centres in developing countries abroad.
Members of 2nd East London Scout Group want to send the books to Bookbridge social enterprise for the education of 20,000 youngsters in Mongolia, Cambodia and Sri Lanka.
All the books are used for English language libraries and teacher-training in countries lacking resources.
The Scout group based in the Isle of Dogs and Poplar collects, sorts and packages 45,000 books every year.
Members are now collecting books until July which can be fiction or non-fiction—but not text books.
They should be “in reasonable condition” for youngsters from five-year-olds to teenagers.
Books can be dropped off at Poplar’s Trussler Hall community centre in Grundy Street.
