Bordered up butcher shop in Wapping after car smashed through shop front

A car crashed into a shop front in Wapping this morning smashing the window of a butcher’s.

It is understood the car had just left a parking space on the opposite side of Wapping Lane when it crashed through Hussey’s Quality Butchers during the icy road conditions.

A woman in her 40s was checked by paramedics but did not need treatment, according to London ambulance.

Their spokeswoman said: “We were called at 6am to reports of a road traffic coalition involving one car. We sent an ambulance and a hazardous area response team.”
