EAST London fashionistas have the chance to get expert advice from internationally renowned arts institute Central Saint Martins College.

From Saturday (January 22), those aged 14-19 can learn how to recycle garments in ingenious ways and also develop their portfolios for college interviews.

Run in partnership with Tower Hamlets Council’s A Team Arts, made up of young people, there will be three sorts of session on offer at the Brady Arts Centre in Whitechapel and the college’s campus in Southampton Row on Saturdays until March 26.

The Make Do and Mend project will explore sustainability in fashion by helping students to make new garments from old clothing.

Participants will get a Bronze Arts Awards Accreditation.

The Drop In Study Support programme is for the borough’s schoolchildren and will give advice on course work and exams.

The college’s master classes will encompass drawing, knitting, printed textiles and sewing.
