Chelsea FC scores 3-year deal with Institute of Sport Business’ Olympic Park campus

An academic programme for former Chelsea FC players making the transfer away from football as part of an ‘aftercare’ scheme is being set up by the Institute for Sport Business at its Hackney Wick campus.
The campus in the former Olympics broadcasting centre, part of Loughborough University London, has signed a three-year partnership with the club for research, internships and player ‘aftercare’.
“Having a strategic partnership with a Premier League club of Chelsea’s calibre allows us to work on collaborative research,” Loughborough University London associate Dean Prof James Skinner said. “We can provide unique learning opportunities for our students and for Chelsea players over the next three years.”
Chelsea FC benefits from the deal by utilising Loughborough London’s research and academic expertise. This helps evolve the club’s youth development programme and its ongoing education of players and the post-football careers of those moving out of the game.
