An oral history seminar and testimony about peace after the 1971 War of Bangladesh independence is planned later this month in London’s East End by the Brick Lane Circle.
It is being run by history Professor Yasmin Saikia, author of ‘Women, War, the Making of Bangladesh’ published last year (Duke University Press), which includes memories of victims and perpetrators of violence across India, Pakistan and Bangladesh during the conflict.
The Sunday seminar is on March 25 at Whitechapel’s Davenant Centre in Whitechapel Road at 3pm, free on a first-come-first-served booking by email to: bricklanecircle@yahoo.co.uk. Details on 07574-224891.
