A talented school pupil has been recognised for her creative flair after she helped bring political satire to the stage.
Jenna Islam was handed a Rudolph Walker Role Model Award by EastEnders star Patsy Palmer – better known as Bianca Butcher.
Jenna was part of a team from St Paul’s Way Trust School in Bow who put on topical comedy “When Children Took Over The World”, in which actors played prime minister David Cameron and his deputy Nick Clegg.
Judges at the awards, organised by actor Rudolph Walker, commended the play at a ceremony in Edmonton, north London on July 14.
The awards are aimed at fostering a sense of responsibility in youngsters by engaging them in drama.
