Youngsters and their families can learn about the world of senses and take part in an interactive show about the heart this Half Term at east London’s Centre of the Cell.
Queen Mary University’s science education Pod in Whitechapel has two days of the family show In a Heartbeat, on February 16 and 18.
The show is about the human heart—what it does, how it works and how it manages to push so much blood around your system.
Children can also learn about the weird and wonderful world of the senses on February 17 and 19, in the Sensational interactive show packed with “tasty facts and tingly demonstrations” for ages seven upwards.
Both shows include a chance to take part in a session inside the centre’s cell-shaped Pod that is suspended over the laboratories of the Blizard medical research institute.
Once inside the Pod, they learn about the amazing world of cells, the human body and the latest medical research.
Youngsters can try their hand at virtual experiments, heal extensive virtual burns, have their cells counted, study real body parts and diagnose cancer using high-power microscopes.
