Students from Langdon Park school were invited to put forward proposals for the regeneration of part of the Docklands last week.

Forty year 9 pupils from the school attended a workshop hosted by property investment company MGPA in Exchange Tower on the Isle of Dogs.

The eight teams were challenged to propose and design a viable redevelopment project for the South Quay area of the Isle of Dogs. They were aided in the production of their designs and models by volunteers from MGPA.

Langdon Park’s Head of Technology, Dawn Barlow said: “It has been fantastic for the pupils to have this opportunity and to see them so engaged on the task. The volunteers have been superb with them.

“We have spoken about doing an architectural workshop in school but it hasn’t been possible, so this chance for them to do something practical and learn about a business has been ideal.”
