A Tower Hamlets school has been recognised for its support of children’s mental health and has nominated one of its staff members for a national award.
The Wellbeing in Schools Awards, organised by Place2Be which offers emotional and therapeutic services in schools, are a celebration of the contribution that schools and their staff across the country make to help children struggling with mental health issues.
Cyril Jackson Primary School, in Limehouse Causeway, Limehouse, nominated their pastoral support administrator Mark Ripper for the ‘School Hero’ award for his commitment to the school’s most vulnerable children and families.
“At Cyril Jackson we are very lucky to have Place2Be working alongside us and I am always keen to do whatever I can do to support them in their work,” said Mark.
Cyril Jackson’s headteacher, Gillian Kemp, said: “The children, parents and staff at Cyril Jackson are absolutely thrilled and delighted that Mark has been recognised for his significant contribution to the support and welfare of our school community.”
