A delegation from the Middle East visited the East End of London this week as part of a film-making project.
The group of budding artists spent time with young people from the Mile End Community Project, based in Eric Street.
The programme allowed young people to head out into their neighbourhoods to gauge public views on Tower Hamlets.
Interactions were filmed, and the day ended with an arts workshop allowing people to outline their thoughts on the project. It was organised in partnership with UK charity The Crossway Foundation.
Co-founder of the Mile End Community Project, Nurull Islam, said: “We were delighted to work with the Crossway Foundation again this year and our young people always find it an amazing experience meeting and discussing lifestyles in their respective countries.”
Mayor of Tower Hamlets Lutfur Rahman also paid tribute to the scheme.
He said: “The Mile End Community Project does some great work and I’m delighted that our young artists and film makers had this opportunity to work with their counterparts from the Middle East.”
