Three Tower Hamlets schools are in the top 100 in the country for consistently improving their results over the last four years.

Schools Minister Nick Gibb has written to 100 schools throughout the country including St Paul’s Way School in Bow, Bethnal Green Technology College and Sir John Cass’s Foundation and Red Coat School in Stepney to praise them for their results.

In his letter he said: “Your results show that you are amongst the 100 top performing schools based on sustained improvement in each year from 2007 to 2010.

“I would like to congratulate your staff, governors and pupils for their hard work and success and to thank you for your leadership in continuing the drive towards the highest standards of educational achievement.”

St Paul’s Way has shown a 26 per cent improvement over the four years and the latest set of figures showed that 46 per cent of pupils got five grade A* to C GCSEs including English and maths, at Bethnal Green Technology College there was a 32 per cent improvement with 58 per cent now getting five A* to C grades and at Sir John Cass’s the 42 per cent improvement saw 75 per cent of pupils with five A* to C grades.
