A sports charity which is working with schools to improve the lives of young people from disadvantaged communities has been praised by Tower Hamlets Council.
Councillor Danny Hassell, cabinet member for children, schools, and young people, visited a charity sports project run by Greenhouse Sports at St Paul’s Way Trust School, to witness the positive effects sport can have on both the physical health and mental wellbeing of young people in the borough.
The charity delivers extra-curricular, high-quality sports coaching to over 600 young people per year in the borough to help them develop life skills through sport.
He said: “It is important to have programmes like this in our borough as they align with our work to improve physical activity.
“In addition, they ensure that as many young people as possible have access to and support from positive role models that can help widen their horizons and raise their aspirations
