As part of the Count on Us challenge, run by the Mayor’s Fund for London, primary and secondary school pupils have been taking part in challenges throughout the year, which culminated in finals at City Hall.
There were three primary schools from Tower Hamlets which made the top 15 on July 6 – Mayflower, Manorfield and Old Palace Primary.
The Year Four and Five pupils spent the day codebreaking, completing shape puzzles and playing pentominoes.
The winners were Poplar’s Mayflower Primary, followed by Bellenden Primary from Southwark and Baring Primary in Lewisham took third.
The secondary final took place on July 10, with Green Spring Academy as the only school representing Tower Hamlets. It was won by Langdon Academy from Newham.
