More than 3,000 people turned out to an event at Queen Mary University last week to celebrate its credentials as one of the UK’s leading research establishments.

The evening marked the first public use of the newly-refurbished People’s Palace, a grade two listed building.

A talent show allowed students, staff and members of the public to show off their credentials, and there was also a performance from The Naked Scientists, a duo who have achieved exploded onto the science scene with their interactive radio shows and podcasts.
