St Paul’s is Way ahead now

PUBLISHED: 15:02 25 August 2010 | UPDATED: 15:18 25 August 2010

STRUGGLING St Paul’s Way Trust School scored record GCSE results this year.

Last year it was the only school in the borough below the government’s ‘floor target’, with just 29 per cent of pupils getting five or more A*-C grades including English and maths, and the Mile
End school has previously been
threatened with closure because of its poor results.

This year this soared to 44 per cent, and 60 per cent of students got at least five A*-C grades at the school overall, although the school is still behind other East End establishments.

Headteacher Graeme Price said: “We are delighted that so many of our young people have done so well. The students worked so hard to achieve these results.”
