Ten teenagers are set to enjoy a taste of the high-powered business world when they take up work experience placements at a Canary Wharf communications firm in the summer.
The pupils from the Bishop Challoner Federation of Schools, which teaches boys and girls on separate campuses in Stepney, will be working for Ogilvy & Mather.
Each student will be mentored by one of the company’s employees and staff will also visit the school in Commercial Road, to give talks during assemblies about how to create strong CVs and perform well in job interviews.
Nick Soar, head of the girls’ school, described the scheme as “relevant and unique” and added: “This partnership will help provide our students with even greater levels of aspiration, confidence and tools to take the first steps in their chosen careers.”
The partnership between the school and the company was organised by digital and social media agency The Worst Kept Secret, and was formally launched at Ogilvy & Mather’s Canary Wharf headquarters on January 24.
