Teenagers are planning a take-over at east London’s historic Geffrye Museum for an evening which could help kick-start their careers in the arts.

The Geffrye Young Producers are staging their ‘My Voice, My Art, My Geffrye’ event for teens ages 14 to 19 at the Shoreditch museum next Friday evening from 6pm.

It is organised as a platform for young artists and performers to showcase their talent, including screening short films which have been shot by young movie-makers on life in east London.

A DJ is also setting the pace along with an ‘open mic’ session, interactive street art demonstration on the front lawn and a craft workshop to create designs to print onto tote bags.

Information about getting involved in creative activities and kick-starting artistic careers is also available, with professionals on hand to talk about their art and give advice to aspiring artists, makers and performers. Free tickets can be reserved online.
