Shamed Tower Hamlets peer Baroness Uddin will not be allowed to return to Parliament unless she pays back the 125,000 she wrongly claimed in expenses.
The House of Lords is due to hold a vote on whether to extend her suspension if she has not paid back the money owed before the next Queen’s Speech, speculated to be held on May 9.
A spokesman for the house said: “She is still suspended and will not be allowed to return unless all the money are repaid.”
Baroness Uddin was given an 18 months suspension from the Lords in October 2010 after the House found she had wrongly claimed expenses on a second home in Kent while living in a housing association property in Wapping.
