Young out-of-work east Londoners are being offered the chance to pick up valuable new green employment skills – with a paid work placement on completing the programme.
A 12 week course, from May to July, is run by Green Jobs Alliance and Tower Hamlets charity Otesha Project UK, and is in Construction Skills and Green Employment and will take place at Tower Hamlets College.
It will include literacy, numeracy, employability skills, green awareness, work experience and dedicated support which aims to get those out of work into work as quickly as possible.
Hanna Thomas, lead organiser of the Alliance, said: “This is a brilliant opportunity to get the skills you need for a new career making our homes and buildings fit for the future and healthier for people and the planet.”
Applicants should be aged 16-18, live in east London, be out of education or work and have an interest in a career in construction, energy efficiency or energy assessment.
To book a place at the information and interview session on May 9, call Hanna Thomas on 0207 377 2109 or email hanna@greenjobsalliance.org.uk.
