A special help-line for guidance to overseas students has been set up by the University of East London in light of the UK Border Agency’s actions against another university’s sponsorships.
The UEL’s move today follows the Border Agency revoking London Metropolitan’s ‘Highly Trusted’ status for sponsoring students from abroad.
“This is an anxious time for international students, following the Border Agency’s decision,” said a UEL spokesman.
“We would like to reassure students that the UEL is one of the serious options they can consider in order to continue their higher education. We are a university with a tradition of hosting students from 120 countries worldwide.”
The help-line offering practical advice and guidance about what the alternative options are is on 020-8223 3300.
