Volunteers lent a hand last week to create a reading corner to inspire a love of literature in primary school children.
Christchurch Church of England primary school in Brick Lane, Whitechapel, benefitted from the time of employees of global advisory company CEB.
The day of action was part of national volunteering charity Timebank’s drive to get corporate firms involved in making a difference in local communities.
Timebank chief executive Helen Walker said: “We both believe that volunteering can be a real force for change and that through volunteering, employees develop valuable leadership, decision-making and negotiation skills while making a genuine difference in their communities.”
The volunteers completed the transformation of the previously unused corner of the school on Friday.
