The former University of East London student, now 35, was one of only four up-and-coming designers selected to take part in the ‘Ones to Watch’ catwalk show on Friday at Freemason’s Hall in The City.

It was a chance for Krasimira to show her signature synthetic material, which she describes as “a luxurious alternative to fur” with endless possibilities, and show the fashion world her garments tinged with political overtones.

“I have gaudy, hairy garments which are actually wearable,” she tells you. “I stand behind the idea of ‘wear hair—not fur’ which has so much potential.”

The stars emblazoned on her clothes are a riff on political upheaval around the world and its obsession with celebrity and fame.

The mum-of-two graduated from EUL in 2014 with a BA Honours in Fashion Design and now keeps busy managing the Fashion Hub, a work space at the university’s Knowledge Dock building and running her ‘Krasimira Stoyneva’ fashion label.

Krasimira, whose clothes have appeared in Vogue Italia, took her designs to India in 2015 as part of a UEL delegation and showcase.
