Kids were climbing the wall in east London at Swanlea School’s fifth annual family day.
Wall climbing and rock-climbing were part of the day’s fun, as well as Segway racing, when the school opened its doors to the Whitechapel community on Saturday.
Farm animals from Kidsrome also made an appearance along with arts and crafts.
One 10-year-old, Nyla, felt “high” rock climbing for the first time, but found the best of all were the animals. She left trying to persuade her mum to get her a dog!
Other activities included a surf simulator and Marvella’s magic show, while staff ran a café selling home-made cakes and sweets.
Headteacher Brenda Landers said: “This year’s family day was extra special as it raised money for the United World Schools charity to help build a school in Cambodia.”
It attracted record numbers with 150 children attending as well as their mums and dads, a reflection of Swanlea’s growing involvement in the community and a fun start to the school year.
