Labour made gains in both Bethnal Green and Bow and Poplar and Limehouse.
Rushanara Ali improved on her 2015 result by 10.6pc, while Jim Fitzpatrick increased his share of the vote by 8.3pc
The Conservatives and Ukip lost out in both constituencies, while independent candidate Ajmal Masroor’s 6.5pc share was enough to see him retain his deposit.
