Olympic and world champions including Ed Clancy, Chris Newton and Rob Hayles are heading to the business district as part of the Halfords Tour Series in May.

The series is contested between the ten best teams of British cycling doing laps around Canary Wharf for an hour and reaching speeds of more than 40 miles per hour.

It will be the first of 10 racing series around the UK to decide the winner of the series trophy.

The course runs in a rectangle from Cabot Square in the West to Canada Square in the East, with the start and finish at Canada Square. It starts at 7pm on May 25.
