Here’s how to recycle your Christmas tree this year...
PUBLISHED: 16:53 27 December 2012
Christmas trees coming to the end of their lives can be recycled this year, with collections set to take place across Tower Hamlets.
Residents in housing estates and flat blocks can contact their housing managers to find out about local arrangements, and people living in houses can leave their trees on the boundary of their property for collection with garden waste or food waste on their recycling day.
Tower Hamlets council will also be collecting trees from January 7 until January 25, but it warns that only real Christmas trees can be recycled and soil and decorations should be removed.
Last year, the council collected around 500 Christmas trees for recycling, turning them into compost.
