Organisers held a mini country market in Shadwell on Sunday as part of the national Open Gardens weekend.

Sisters Brenda and Georgina Skelding were enjoying the open air with their brother Louis, while mums and dads were given guided tours around the 50 plots tended by community members and their families.

Annie Johns was busy running a country market stall with locally-made food, to show what organic produce can be grown—even next to the DLR and Fenchurch Street railway arches in the heart of Shadwell.

The garden includes wildlife areas, small ponds, traditional country hedgerow and a greenhouse.
