Residents on an estate in Poplar took part in a festival to celebrate the work of local wellbeing projects.

The Aberfeldy Wellbeing Festival saw residents from Aberfeldy Estate recognise the achievements of projects like a local food co-op and the football and boxing training offered to young people.

A cheque from construction company Willmott Dixon, one of the organisers, was presented to residents to help fund part of the festival.

The event featured rap music, singers and dancers, as well as family games including a gladiator contest and Zumba classes.

There was also a film by students at Aberfeldy Primary about bullying.

Mark Ottley, senior sales manager at Willmott Dixon, said: “Our priority at Aberfeldy Village is to create a sense of community and local events like these are ideal for both current and future residents.”
