AN artist has opened a mosaics exhibition, in an East End shop, using discarded objects to depict his life and childhood.

Steve Wright uses objects such as milk bottle tops, broken dolls, false teeth, pen lids, crockery, and objects snapped up at car boot sales.

His display will be on show for two months at Milagros, a Mexican shop on Columbia Road in Bethnal Green selling handmade products.

His art work is inspired by Folk Art traditions in Haiti, Mexico, India and South America, and is defined by rich colours, texture, pattern and story telling.

Other influences cited by Wright are disability, illness and imperfection.
