Runners young and old gathered in Victoria Park on Sunday for a five kilometre charity run.

The Subway Helping Hearts race, which raised money for Heart Research UK, saw 370 people run, walk or push their way across the finish line.

Families could stay and enjoy the sunshine for the rest of the day with a free bouncy castle, face painting and inflatable football pitch.

Barbara Harpham, national director of Heart Research UK, said: “We are thrilled to be working with the Subway brand once again to encourage heart healthy lifestyles for the whole family.

“All the sponsorship money raised will help us to continue to fund heart health projects in and around London that really do make a real difference to the local community.”
