A CHARITY that offers a refuge to parents with sick children is offering residents a cuppa today.

The Sick Children's Trust which runs Stevenson House in Whitechapel is kick-starting the Big Chocolate Tea Party campaign to raise some cash.

The house in Ashfield Street provides a place for parents to stay while visiting their children across the road at the Royal London Hospital.

It is one of seven 'Homes from Home' across the UK and offers up to 12 families at a time a place to sleep, cook and wash when they need a quick break from sitting by their child's bedside.

But it needs more than 87,000 to stay open every year and from 1pm today, families are invited to have a look around and hear how they can raise cash for the charity.
