The rise of Islamist fanatics with hate and those who carry out violence are “enemies of humanity who do not represent religion”, a rally staged at Whitechapel in London’s East End heard.
A rally organiser said: “Groups like Taliban, Al Qaeda and Isis who are propagating messages of hate against other faith communities and carrying out violent acts are the enemies of humanity—they don’t represent religion.
“We will defeat them as we did in 1971 when Bangladsh won its independence.”
The rally of ‘human chain’ protesters organised by Nirmul Committee in Whitechapel’s ’s Altab Ali Park on Saturday followed a terrorist attack in Bangladesh in July, when 20 people were killed, mostly tourists, at Dhaka’s Holey Artisan Bakery.
