Dear Editor,

TRANSPORT Secretary of State Jim Fitzpatrick (MP for Poplar & Canning Town), is to make an announcement about the expansion of Heathrow Airport.

Should consent be granted, it will result in 2,000 people being evicted from their homes, causing a great deal of stress and anxiety.

It would be callous and insensitive in the extreme if such an announcement was to be made in the run-up to Christmas.

I suggest Jim Fitzpatrick reconsiders and delays any announcements until after the Christmas period, so that those facing eviction can at least enjoy the festive season together with their families.
