WHAT have these half-dozen things in common?
1: Tower Hamlets council suddenly finds £6 million to make estates 'cleaner and greener' after years of neglect and undemocratic stock transfer.
2: Graffiti and estate cleanup blitz, a job half done as usual and actually this is their job anyway.
3: Cute new slogan 'Getting Better,' the difference will probably not be visible to the naked eye.
4: Survey of maintenance and cleaning... since they treat serious consultations with such contempt, I shan't bother to fill this in.
5: £50 'rebate' to leaseholders to compensate for thousands of pounds of waste and overcharging... how patronising!
6: Graphs in their propaganda sheet showing how wonderful things are becoming. No comment!
Yes, when all these things arrive at once, it must be election time!
And after May 1, we can confidently expect the indolent, contemptuous and unresponsive torpor to resume.
Earth to Town Hall: We don't believe you!
