Dear Editor,

THE decision by Tower Hamlets Labour Group in January not to consult families living in the Isle of Dogs on the expansion of City Airport was bizarre.

I have since checked what happens regarding Heathrow, Stansted and Gatwick.

I can assure the Labour-run council that local authorities surrounding these airports ensure the views of their residents are considered when expansion is proposed.

The Isle of Dogs and Poplar deserve that consideration from this Town Hall, when their lives will be affected by the growth of City Airport rather than the Labour Group just doing whatever the Government tells them.

Blackwall & Cubitt Town Ward

Tower Hamlets Council
