Dear Ed,

MORE than 400 residents of Stepney’s Exmouth Estate now oppose Swan Housing’s development proposal on our open space.

For Swan’s Akin Durowoju to call over 400 households “a hard core’ of leaseholders spreading misinformation” is pathetic (East London Advertiser website letters, March 30).

The Say No’ campaign is supported by the majority of tenants and leaseholders.

Swan’s Mr Durowoju claims that the area is blighted by noise and pollution—but is quite happy to build flats and house families in such a poor environment.

The car park he mentioned was once green space and was turn into a temporary car park for Swan’s contractors. Temporary planning permission was granted for one year and this has now expired (Planning No PA/07/01671).

Who’s the one spreading misinformation?

Nick Parkin

Exmouth Estate, Commercial Road, Stepney
