We want homes, not white elephant arts centres!

Dear Editor, IT IS disgraceful that Tower Hamlets council continues to ignore the needs of people for more homes, then pays for gigantic white elephants like Bethnal Green's Rich Mix arts centre. When will they learn?

Dear Editor,

IT IS disgraceful that Tower Hamlets council continues to ignore the needs of people for more homes, then pays for gigantic white elephants like Bethnal Green's Rich Mix arts centre.

When will they learn that what we need is affordable social housing fit for families, not over priced gimmicks and more yuppie Towers?

London is one of the only places in the country where house prices continue to rise out of most people's reach.

With the London Assembly and London Mayor election just round the corner, we need to send a message before May 1 that housing should be the Town Hall's top priority.

Better homes mean better life chances.
