More trains are running on time through East London and Essex on the Fenchurch network than anywhere else in Britain.
That’s according to latest official rail industry figures for the four weeks ending March 5.
C2C, which runs the main-line commuter services between Fenchurch Street through Limehouse and Bromley-by-Bow on the Southend and Shoeburyness run, has been named ‘best-performing operator’ in the country, with almost 97 per cent of its trains on time.
The company has added the accolade to winning the inaugural ‘Golden Whistle’ in January last year for ‘best punctuality’ among all train operators in the previous 12 months, averaging 96 per cent on time. It holds the record for highest annual punctuality by a franchise train operator as well as record for any four-week period at almost 99 per cent.
