Rail bosses at Fenchurch Street are offering cash back to season ticketholders after train delays caused by the winter storms.
Monthly and annual ticket holders can get a day’s fare back by registering on the c2c website.
“We want to say sorry to those who noticed more delays recently than they’re used to,” said c2c managing director Julian Drury. “We can’t give passengers their time back, but can give them some money back.”
The cash-back follows the impact on all rail services during October’s storms, which delayed commuters on the Southend-Fenchurch Street service at Barking, West Ham and Limehouse. It hit c2c’s top-spot on the rail industry’s punctuality league table.
Passengers with daily or weekly tickets are already eligible for a refund on any specific delayed journeys. Those with season tickets can register online for details of how much they can claim, under the company’s passenger’s charter set by the government.
