The findings by Transport Focus independent watchdog reveals “the happiest train passengers in Britain” are those travelling on the line through east London and Essex.
Train punctuality at 91 per cent has put c2c at the top of the rail industry’s league table for several years.
It has also been named “London’s best commuter service” for journey times, frequency, clean trains and comfortable seats.
The company signed a £100m deal last month for station improvements and new trains with more carriages to increase seating.
