Patrick Samuel’s work, called Clash of the Icons, is on show at the Stepney Green picture house venue in Mile End Road until January 16.

He has embraced his “neuro-diversity” as a gift rather than seeing it as a disability and says he has found his voice through his painting.

Patrick returned to art after a 20-year break, picking up painting and drawing again when he started his daily art therapy just over a year ago.

His paintings and drawings merge heroes and villains in unexpected ways that reflect his favourites—although “not too seriously”, he admits.

Clash of the Icons takes on alternative view at the big screen and its icons, just as he often imagines them. He also composes music when he is not painting and drawing.
