60 people were evacuated from a hotel when fire broke out yesterday afternoon.
Six fire engines, around 35 firefighters and officers were called to tackle the blaze in a hotel at West India Quay on Hertsmere Road, close to Canary Wharf.
The fire affected a flat on the 24th floor and around 60 people evacuated the building before the Brigade arrived. There were no injuries.
The Brigade was called at about 4.40pm and the fire was under control within an hour. Fire crews from Poplar, Shadwell, Bethnal Green, Whitechapel, Millwall and East Greenwich fire stations attended the incident.
The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.
