Families had a narrow escape when a fire broke out in an East End tower block last night.
Fire crews battled for an hour and a half to bring the flames under control at the nine-storey building in Limehouse Causeway.
Emergency fire crews from Shadwell were called at 5.37pm to the nine-storey building in Limehouse Causeway which destroyed half the third and fourth floors.
Nobody was injured,
Crews from Poplar, Shadwell, Whitechapel and Bethnal Green fire stations were involved in tackling the blaze. Fire investigators are looking into the cause.
