FIREFIGHTERS popped into their local pub in London's East End to thank them for saving their pennies.
The staff at the Aldgate Exchange tavern managed to collect around 1,500 over the last 12 months from their bottle collection left on the bar of the boozer in Whitechapel High Street, which they handed over to the Firemen's Benevolent Fund.
A crew from the Blue Watch at Whitechapel fire-station nearby looked in after work to say thanks and present pub staff with a Benevolent Fund award for their support over the last few years.
