A fitness trainer in Bethnal Green raised 2,000 for a hospice by getting his clients on gym bicycles.
Personal trainer Arran Arogundale organised the Spinathon at Fitness for Less in Cambridge Heath Road, which saw at least 24 people cycling for three hours at the weekend to raise money for St Joseph’s in south Hackney.
Mr Arogundale, who organised the event as part of his degree course, said: “Lots of my clients have had a friend or family member cared for at St Joseph’s. I wanted to organise a charity event and my clients agreed that St Joseph’s was a fantastic cause.
“It was great to see so many people in the gym doing something for the community. It was hard work but everyone really enjoyed it.”
