Food wastage is set to be highlighted at a festival this weekend.

The event aims to encourage people to reduce the amount of food we waste and share recipes and ideas to help one another make the most of the ingredients they buy.

Chefs will also knock up a dish from surplus food collected from local businesses in the area surrounding Wapping, where they festival is to be held.

Organiser Ella Dorfman said: “Every day food is wasted both in individual houses and by businesses, and we want to help educate people about the alternatives.”

The festival will be held at Society Links, in John Fisher Street on Saturday.
