TWO family members in Tower Hamlets can now swim for free on Saturdays at one of the borough's four pools.
It comes after the government introduced free swims for over 60s and under 16s. The council also has free Friday swims and 11 single sex swimming sessions aimed at girls and women each week.
Free family swim will take place at Mile End Park, York Hall, St George's and Tiller leisure centres every Saturday between 12noon and 5pm (programme permitting) until March 31 next year. The offer applies to any adult accompanying a child.
To take advantage of these sessions adult and junior residents have to take up a yearly Pay and Play membership said to call a "very small amount".
For details visit www.towerhamlets.gov.uk/swim or contact a local leisure centre.
