Passengers now have free Wi-Fi access for their laptops at National Rail’s Bethnal Green station on the Chingford-Enfield lines from Liverpool Street.

Greater Anglia train operators have a deal with The Cloud internet providers for free connections at 100 stations across east London and the Anglia region. Bethnal Green is the latest station linking into the scheme for email access and web browsing for commuters on the move.

“We recognise the internet is a vital part of people’s lives nowadays,” said Greater Anglia’s Andrew Goodrum. “A huge number of passengers are using mobile devices.”

Increase in Wi-Fi use by rail passengers has doubled over the past six months and showing no sign of slowing down, according to the company.
